THAILAM | KERA THAILAM | KUZHAMBU

These are medicated oil preparations. Base oil for their preparations includes Tila thaila (Sesame oil), Kera thaila (Coconut oil), Eranda thaila (Castor oil), etc. The above mentioned bases as per the text are processed using Swarasa (Juice), Kwatha (Decoction), Kalka (Ground drugs) in controlled temperature for a specified time till the added drugs are properly extracted. Three types of Paka are maintained for this Kalpanas viz., Mrudu, Chikkana and Khara intended for separate applications.
